She has an M.A. in Communication Arts from Notre Dame University, an M.T.S. from Chicago Theological Union, a Licentiate in Sacred Theology, and an S.T.D. in Moral Theology from the Angelicum in Rome. She has been involved in Hispanic Ministry and has worked in Bolivia and Guatemala. She has had articles published in America, New Theology Review, Review for Religious, The Company, and Pastoral Life. She is a member of CTS and CTSA and an associate member of ACHTUS.. | |||

Betty A. Bourgeois, M.R.E., received her undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond and her M.R.E. from Loyola University New Orleans. After teaching in the Ascension parish Public School System, she stopped working outside the home to rear her nine children. Once she received her graduate degree in Religious Education, she served as a parish D.R.E. and on the Bishop’s Cabinet as Secretary for Christian Formation in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Of special interest to Betty is Catechumenate Ministry in which she has worked since the process was restored, and she currently works on the diocesan steering committee. She is a certified spiritual director having completed her internship at the New Orleans Diocesan Spirituality Center. Since recently retiring from the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Betty now does consulting work and is once again teaching in the Ascension Parish Public School System. Betty has facilitated several LIMEX learning groups. |

Sr. Rose Bowen, O.P., Ph.D., is part-time instructor of Old Testament Literature and New Testament Literature at City College Loyola University New Orleans. She holds a Ph.D. in Humanities from Florida State University, an M.A. in English from Catholic University of America, an M.A. in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, and an M.P.S. from Loyola University New Orleans. She is certified as a spiritual director and directs individual retreats and home retreats for groups. She has been Project Director for National Endowment for the Humanities pilot grants to develop upper division synthesis courses and has published articles on Christology in Horizons and The Flannery O'Connor Bulletin. |

June Meredith Costin, D.Min., has been active in a number of educational areas, including administration, teaching, campus ministry, and religious education programs. She is a faculty member of Butler Community College, Andover, Kansas, where she teaches in the History and the Religion and Philosophy Departments. She has served in leadership positions in campus ministry in Virginia, Delaware, and Kansas and has held Campus Ministry Certification from the Catholic Campus Ministry Association. June received her Master's Degree in Colonial History from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia, and her Doctor of Ministry Degree from St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland. She is the former recording secretary of REA. |

Ms. Emily DeMoor, Ph.D., is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. She is the first graduate of the Loyola Institute for Ministry to have specialized in Religion and Ecology. Emily draws from a rich, interdisciplinary background in the arts, religion, history, and education as she develops a theory and practice of curriculum based on the natural world as the focus of her doctoral work in curriculum theory at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. An experienced religion teacher, she is co-founder of OneHeartSong community supported garden in Covington, Louisiana, and is in the process of developing an educational center based on the story of the universe and the earth and their functioning. Through public speaking, writing, painting, and teaching, Emily aspires to participate in what Thomas Berry calls “The Great Work” of the coming century. |

Carol M. Holden, D.Min., is presently a pastoral Associate at St. Alphonsus Liguori Parish in Prospect Heights concentrating on adult formation. She received her Doctor of Ministry degree from St. Mary of the Lake University in Mundelein, Illinois, and her Master of Arts Degree in Theology from Loyola University, Chicago. She is co-author of two books: Leadership in a Successful Parish, and Recreating the Parish, Reproducible Resources for Pastoral Ministers. Her articles appear in Chicago Studies and Today’s Parish. Dr. Holden is an adjunct faculty member to two Pastoral Studies Institutes: Loyola University New Orleans and Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. She teaches graduate courses on pastoral planning, leadership development, and the management of ministry. |

Pat Kennedy, M.P.S., is the LIMEX Liaison for the Hexham and Newcastle Diocese of Great Britain. She is the link person to the National Board of Catholic Women, clerk to Council of Laity and Diocesan Pastoral Council. Pat is Chairperson for Charismatic Renewal in the diocese and serves on the National Service Committee as well as the Management Board for the Diocese's Youth Ministry Team. She is a widow of 21 years and is mother to 4 children and grandmother to 11 children. Pat is the Director of Studies to Permanent Diaconate who use LIMEX as their theological studies. Additionally, she graduated from the LIMEX program in 1999 with her M.P.S. and is a certified LIMEX facilitator. |

Marilyn Peters Krawczyk, M.R.E., M.A., has spent over twenty years as a parish Director of Religious Education and has ministered in the Office for Catechesis in the Diocese of Chicago. Marilyn has returned to parish ministry and is now DRE/pastoral ministrer at St. Monica Parish in Chicago. She has written for national publications such as Religion Teachers Journal, Modern Liturgy, and Emmanuel and was the DRE columnist for Catechist Magazine. Her educational background includes a Master of Arts in French from Northwestern University in Illinois and a Master of Religious Education from the Institute of Pastoral Studies of Loyola University Chicago. |

Steve Lodesky, Ph.D., serves as Pastoral Associate at St. Matthew Parish in Winter Haven, Florida, in the Diocese of Orlando. He has been actively involved in full-time parish ministry for more than 12 years and has recently completed a three year program in spiritual direction. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. Degrees in Religious Studies from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. Steve presently evaluates LIMEX graduate student assignments in the focus areas of Pastoral Life and Administration and Christian Spirituality for Pastoral Ministry. |

Father Pat Madden, Ph.D., is Director of the Greco Institute of the Diocese of Shreveport, Louisiana. He received his M.Div. from St. Meinrad Seminary in Indiana (1974). He earned an M.A. in Liturgy from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend (1979) and an M.A. in Latin from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (1988). In 1995 he completed his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies at the Catholic University of America. His lifelong hobby is astronomy. |

Rev. Paul Maier, D. Min., was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Richmond, VA, in 1970. Currently, he is serving in his third pastorate, that of two tiny parishes in the far southwest corner of the Commonwealth. He is an avid participant in retreats, seminars, and workshops of many types, particularly as related to spirituality. A graduate of the spiritual direction programs at The Oratory and at the Pecos Benedictine Monastery in New Mexico, he has done further work and study at the acclaimed Center for Religious Development in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is a regular instructor in diocesan adult education and catechist enrichment programs, and was the last chair person of the Diocesan Worship Commission. He holds current membership in both Spiritual Directors International and Retreats International. |

Michael J. McElwee, D.Min., serves in parish ministry as Deacon and Director of Ministries and Adult Education at Ascension Church in Melbourne, Florida. In over twenty-five years of full-time ecclesial ministry, Michael has served in parish religious education, youth ministry, and retreat ministry in Delaware, Virginia, and Maryland. He has served as a LIMEX liaison and facilitator and has developed catechist certification and lay ministry formation programs. He studied at Temple University and Catholic University and received his M.Div. and D.Min. degrees from St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland. |

Bro. Robert K. Moriarty, S.M., Ph.D., is a member of the New York Province of the Society of Mary. Bro. Moriarty did his undergraduate studies at the University of Dayton and holds a Master of Arts in Systematic Theology from Marquette University. Specializing in biblical studies, he received a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Marquette in 1990. Since 1989, he has been Director of the Pastoral Department for Small Christian Communities of the Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut. In addition, Bob serves on the board of directors for both the National Alliance of Parishes Re-Structuring into Communities and the North American Forum for Small Christian Communities. |

James O’Neill, Ed.D., received his S.T.B. from the Gregorian University, Rome, Italy, and his Master of Divinity from Notre Dame Seminary, Graduate School of Theology. He completed his clinical pastoral education at Southern Baptist Hospital in 1979, and received his Doctorate in Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1982. Jim has served as associate pastor of Our Lady of Divine Providence Church in Metairie, Louisiana, after which he became Professor of Pastoral Theology at Notre Dame Seminary, and served as Director of the Department of Pastoral Education from 1974-1977. Beginning in 1977, Jim was an individual, marriage and family therapist at the Pastoreal Counseling Center of Southern Baptist Hospital where he was appointed Director in 1981. Since 1992, Dr. O'Neill has been in private practice as a pastoral psychotherapist and consultant. He is a Fellow of the American association of Pastoral couselors, a Licensed Professional couselor in Louisiana and an Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to evaluating graduate LIMEX focus course assignments, Jim teaches the Introduction to Pastoral Care and Counseling course on campus. |

Dr. Paintner is an adjunct faculty member at Seattle University's School of Theology and Ministry and also co-teaches Awakening the Creative Spirit, an experiential education program for spiritual directors in arts and imagination. In addition, she ministers as a spiritual director, artist, and writer. Her first co-authored book on Lectio Divina will be published by Paulist Press in July 2008, and she is currently working on her second book about beauty and aesthetic spirituality. She earned her Ph.D. in Christian Spirituality from the Graduate Theological Union, and was a former facilitator for the Loyola program in Sacramento, California. Christine is also a Benedictine Oblate, and lives out the contemplative life in the heart of Seattle with her husband and dog.

Laura Perez, M.R.E., is a native New Orleanian who is married and the mother of eight children. She received her Master of Religious Education degree from the Loyola Institute for Ministry on-campus program in 1996. Inspired by the person and work of Thomas Berry, she developed a particular interest in the spirituality of the natural world. Laura has taught ecological religious education at the elementary and middle school levels and has coordinated environmental awareness efforts in the school-wide community. She has broad experience in youth ministry and in lay ministry in Catholic parish work. |

Patrick Riley serves as the Director of Development at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio where, since 1985, he has been an adjunct professor in two graduate programs: educational administration and ministry. Previously he ministered as a teacher and administrator in Catholic high schools in Cleveland and New York for thrity-five years. He holds an M.A. in religious education from Fordham University, an M.A. in educational administration from Ursuline College and a D.Min. degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. For over 15 years he has been the book review editor for Emmanuel magazine and contributed several entries in the Encylopedia of Catholic Education in the United States. |

Rev. Roy Shelly, S.D.B., Ph.D., is the director of the Office of Faith Formation for the Catholic Diocese of Monterey, California. He was ordained in 1978 as a Salesian of Don Bosco. He has served as an adjunct professor of youth ministry at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, at the Graduate Theological Union, in Berkeley, California, and has ministered to adolescents and youth ministers in numerous Catholic high school settings, in retreat centers, and, as associate director, in the Office of Youth Ministry in the Diocese of Columbus, Ohio. In addition to serving as an adjunct faculty member for youth ministry courses via the Loyola Institute for Ministry extension program (LIMEX), Fr. Roy serves as adjunct faculty in the LIM on-campus program during the summer session as well as an instructor of record for LIM on-line courses in Youth Ministry. |

Sr. Kathleen Stakelum, M.S.C., M.M., is a Pastoral Associate at St. Bernadette Parish in Houma, LA. She has served as Diocesan Director of the RCIA and is a member of the Isaiah Ministry Preaching Team, giving Parish Missions throughout the U.S. Sr. Kathleen received her B.A. from Our Lady of Holy Cross College and a Masters in Ministry from Seattle University. She completed a two year internship program in Spiritual Direction sponsored by the Archdiocesan Spirituality Center in New Orleans. For five years she served as Vocation director for her religious congregation, the Marianites of Holy Cross. She facilitated a LIMEX learning group in Houma and has offered adult education courses, goal setting sessions, and workshops on RCIA, Prayer and Spirituality, and The Liturgical Year. |

Rev. Hugh White, S.T.L., L.S.S., is a pastor at Our Lady and St. Matthew’s in Rosewell, Scotland. He has served many years in pastoral ministry and has taught as a lecturer in biblical studies at Drygrange Diocesan Seminary. He spent some time studying the trends in ongoing lay and priestly formation and was instrumental in bringing the LIMEX program to Scotland. Hugh has studied at the Gregorian University in Rome and holds a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, Italy. |

Charles Winters, Th.D.Evaluates LIMEX core courses: |

Charles Winters, Th.D., is a former member of the LIM faculty and one of the original framers of the LIMEX program. He is an Episcopal priest and holds a Th.D. in Systematic Theology from the General Theological Seminary in New York. He wrote the original twelve-volume set of textbooks for an extension program for Episcopal laity at the University of the South. Since leaving Loyola in 1987, he, with his wife, Flower Ross, taught Christian Ministries at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. They retired to Asheville, NC, in 1994. |
