Submitting Papers

You may submit a paper by one of the following methods:

  • faxing a draft to 504-865-2066
  • emailing a draft as a Word or RTF attachment to limwrite@loyno.edu
  • mailing it to the attention of Writing Consultants at the Institute for Ministry.

When submitting your paper for review, please include the following information in a note to the consultants. When faxing, use a cover sheet, and address the fax to the Writing Consultants. In your note, please include the following:

  • your name, phone number, and fax number or mailing address;
  • the course you are in and the paper’s due date;
  • specific instructions if you need the consultant to call before faxing so that you may turn on a fax machine or pick up the fax from a communal fax; and
  • any specific questions you may have.

Return of Papers

The consultant will return your paper to you in 5 business days. Please remember that University closures due to holidays, hurricanes, and the like will not be counted as business days. In order to allow enough time to complete your final paper before your group’s due date, it’s usually a good idea to submit it a minimum of seven business days before the due date of papers.

If you submitted your paper electronically, it will be sent back to you as a PDF document. This means that you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to open, read, and print it. This program is usually pre-installed on newer machines, but the software can be downloaded for free from the website. Should you need to download it, a web link is included below.

Feedback to Consultants

After a consultant has read and returned your paper, you are encouraged to give the consultant service feedback on your experience. The link below directs you to a brief survey regarding your experience with the LIM consultant service. Your feedback assists the consultants in improving the service and assists the Insitute in meeting the requirements for accreditation.

MLA Format

The Institute for Ministry requires that graduate student papers adhere to the style set by the Modern Language Association (MLA). The most comprehensive resource on what the style entails is Joseph Gibaldi’s MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (Latest edition. New York:  MLA), which is available through any major bookseller and at research libraries. Some information is also available at the MLA web site <http://www.mla.org>.

Refer to your LIMEX Guide to Written Theological Reflection for detailed examples of both in-text citations and Works Cited entries that are particular to religious and theological studies. In addition, the Guide contains examples of how to cite LIMEX materials. A link to an online version of the Guide can be found at the top of this web page.
