Cecelia M. Bennett is an Associate Director at the Loyola Institute for Ministry (LIM) in New Orleans. She holds a Masters degree in Church Administration and a Licentiate in Canon Law (J.C.L.) from the Catholic University of America. Cecelia has also served as Specialist for Family Ministry, at the United States Catholic Conference in Washington D.C., as Director of the Pastoral Ministries Institute and Campus Ministry at Saint Thomas University, Miami, and as Associate Director of Religious Education for the Archdiocese of Miami, Florida. Over the years, she has taught frequently and published on the topics of canon law and ministry -- specializing in the areas of marriage, family life, women’s issues, and parish life. Cecelia teaches courses on canon law in the on-campus version of the Specialized Certificate program in New Orleans.

Fr. Patrick Brennan is the President of the National Center for Evangelization and Parish Renewal. He is a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago and, since 1994, has been pastor of Holy Family Parish Community in Inverness, Illinois, near Chicago. From 1980 to 1992, he was the founding Director of the Office of Evangelization, for the Archdiocese of Chicago, and from 1992 through 1994 he was the Coordinator of Loyola Chicago’s Center for Evangelization and Catechesis. Today, Fr. Pat continues to travel extensively as a consultant to parishes and church organizations. He is a practicing psychotherapist and has recently completed a doctorate in psychology. His other academic degrees include a Doctorate in Ministry and an S.T.L. The author of twelve books on topics such as spirituality, psychology, evangelization, and parish renewal, his most recent works include Re-Imagining the Parish; Re-Imagining Evangelization; and Parishes That Excel.

Rev. Gilberto Cavazos-González is a former pastor and youth evangelizer. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Spirituality, at the Catholic Theological Union, in Chicago, and brings a wealth of ministerial experience to his studies and his teaching. Of particular concern to him is the relationship of Christian spirituality, pastoral ministry, and culture. He teaches a variety of courses, at CTU, on Christian spirituality -- including medieval spirituality, Franciscanism, and both the Spanish and Mesoamerican roots of modern Hispanic/Latino spirituality.

Dr. Stephen Colecchi holds a Master of Arts in religion from Yale University’s Divinity School., and received the Doctor of Ministry degree from St. Mary's Seminary and University, in Baltimore, in 1983. He is the director of the International Justice and Peace division of the Department of Social Development and World Peace at the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops (USCCB), in Washington D.C. In this role, he coordinates USCCB policy on international issues. represents the Conference on international issues, manages the staff of international policy advisors, and coordinates the Department’s work with the Church internationally, with Catholic Relief Services, and other international bodies. Dr. Colecchi has written numerous articles on Catholic social teaching, social justice, political responsibility, jubilee, and the infusion of Catholic social teaching into Christian education programs. His articles have appeared in Parish, Church, The Catholic Virginian, the op-ed pages of Virginia newspapers and in several publications of the USCCB. He is married and has two adult daughters. His wife, Dr. Cheryl A. Colecchi, is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice.

Anne Comeaux is the Director of Continuing Christian Education for the Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston in Texas. She is a former Chair of the Board of the National Conference on Catechetical Leadership (NCCL). Fr. Joseph Donders is a native of the Netherlands and a member of the Society of Missionaries of Africa. He received a Ph.D. from the Gregorian University, in Rome, in 1961. He has lectured, taught, and presented retreats in many places around the globe, including the United Kingdom,
the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, India, Samoa, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, and the United States. From 1984 to 1988, Fr. Donders was the Executive Director of the Africa Faith & Justice Network, in Washington D.C. More recently, he has served as the Finian Kerwin OFM
Chair of Mission Studies at the Washington Theological Union. He is the award-winning author of many books – such as Jesus the Stranger (for which he received a 1979 U.S. National Book Award for inspirational writing), John Paul II: His Encyclicals in Everyday Language for which

Dr. Elizabeth A. Dreyer is a professor of Religious Studies at University in Connecticut. Prior to her current position, she was an associate professor in the Department of Ecclesiastical History at the Washington Theological Union. Dr. Dreyer received a Ph.D. in historical theology from Marquette University. She is the author of Earth Crammed with Heaven: a Spirituality of Everyday Life, The Cross in Christian Tradition, and Passionate Women: Two Medieval Mystics. She has also written, extensively, on the subject of spirituality in journals such as New Theology Review and Spirituality Today.

Annette L. Dukes earned a Master of Arts in Theology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. She served as an adjunct instructor in theology at Spring Hill from 1991 to 2003. More recently, at Spring Hill, she joined the faculty of the Certificate in Spiritual Direction program,
directed Ignatian retreats on campus, and supervised the internship for spiritual directors in training. Annette formed Enrichment Resources, in 1992, through which she has directed retreats and served many as a spiritual director. Her publications include articles in magazines such as Catechist, Lay Ministry, and Off Campus, the journal of the theology department of Spring Hill College. She currently resides, with her husband, in Sapphire, North Carolina.

Fr. Jake Empereur. S.J., is a parochial vicar and liturgist at the San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio, Texas. For many years, he taught spirituality, liturgical, and systematic theology at the Jesuit School of Theology and the Graduate Theological Union, in Berkeley, California, where he also participated as a leader of the doctoral program in theology and the arts. Fr. Jerry Fagin, S.J., is a Jesuit priest; he was ordained in 1969. He received a Ph.D. in systematic theology, in 1974, from the University of St. Michael's College of the University of Toronto. Currently, Fr. Fagin is an Associate Professor of Systematic Theology and Spirituality, at the Loyola Institute for Ministry, at Loyola University New Orleans. He is particularly interested in the relationship between theology and spirituality, plus ways of fostering the spiritual formation of those preparing for ministry. He teaches both core theological courses, at Loyola, as well a variety of courses on Christian spirituality topics.

Barbara Fleischer is an associate professor and the former Director of the Loyola Institute for Ministry (LIM), at Loyola University New Orleans. She is a licensed organizational psychologist. She holds a Master of Science (M.S.) and a Ph.D. in psychology from St. Louis University and a Masters in Pastoral Studies (M.P.S.) from Loyola University New Orleans. Barbara is the author of the book Facilitating for Growth (Liturgical Press, 1994). She is a co-author of the Crossroad Adult Christian Formation Program, by Crossroad Publications.

Peter Gilmour is a full-time faculty member at the Institute for Pastoral Studies (IPS), at Loyola University of Chicago. He is the Graduate Program Director of the Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies Program and a pastoral theologian focusing on Narrative Theology. He recently completed a book called The Wisdom of Memoir: Reading and Writing Life's Sacred Texts. In 1986, he published The Emerging Pastor, a study of non ordained people who pastor Catholic parishes without resident priests. Peter is an associate editor of the journal Religious Education and a columnist for U.S. Catholic.

Carol Guenther is a full-time staff member with The Reid Group, in Bellevue WA, and the former pastoral administrator of St. Andrew Parish in Sumner, Washington. She also holds a Master of Divinity degree from the University of Notre Dame. She has been involved in ministry since 1980 and has worked with parish leadership groups, adult faith formation opportunities, and liturgy planning since 1990. Her previous positions were at campus ministry centers in Boston and South Bend, Indiana, focusing on young adult ministry and marriage preparation programs. Carol Holden is a Pastoral Associate at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Parish in the town of Prospect Heights, Illinois, concentrating her ministry on adult formation. Sr. Brid Long, SSL, is a member of the Sisters of St. Louis and holds an S.T.D. in Spiritual Theology from the Gregorian University, in Rome. Presently, she is Regional Leader of the Sisters of St. Louis in the U.S. For several years, prior to being in religious community leadership, she was Associate Professor of Theology and Chair of the Pastoral Studies Department at the Washington Theological Union, in D.C., and also taught in the Theology Department of the Catholic University of America. Sr. Brid has published in the area of theology of ministry and has served as co-editor of the journal New Theology Review. Sr. Rea McDonnell is a School Sister of Notre Dame from the Chicago province. Currently she serves as a pastoral counselor and spiritual director in Silver Spring, Maryland. She also travels to teach. She has been an adjunct associate professor in graduate training program for pastoral counselors and parish ministers at Emmanuel College in Boston, at Loyola College of Maryland, and at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. In the 1990s she taught in the program of spirituality at the Washington Theological Union. Rea has taught on every grade level (except first grade) through doctoral studies, and spent nine years as administrator of continuing education programs at the Washington Theological Union. Her doctorate is a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Boston University. Her own continuing education led her to certification by the Institute of Pastoral Psychotherapy, in Oakton, Virginia. Author of over 70 articles and homily helps on topics of prayer, ministry, scripture and spirituality, Rea has also authored seven books on biblical spirituality, including When God Comes Close: A Journey Through Scripture, published in 1994, The Person and Passion of St. Paul (1998), and Why, God?: A Glimpse into the Mystery of Suffering (2002). With Rachel Callahan, CSC, her psychologist colleague, Rea has co-authored three books: Hope for Healing: Good News for Adult Children of Alcoholics; Adult Children of Alcoholics: Ministers and the Ministries; Wholing the Heart: Good News for Those Who Grew Up in Troubled Families. James Neafsey has been a spiritual director, retreat leader, and teacher of Christian spirituality since 1974. He received a Master of Divinity degree from the Weston School of Theology in 1976 and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Graduate Theological Foundation in 1995. John M. Reid is the director of the leadership and organizational consulting practice known as The Reid Group. Before assuming this role, John worked with the Archdiocese of Seattle in the Office of the Archbishop, holding formation, training, and placement responsibilities for ordained and lay ministers as the Coordinator of Transition Services in the Archdiocese. He is a former chairperson of the National Association for Lay Ministry (NALM) and is, currently, a board member for that organization. John has also co-authored the book The Gospel Call to Collaborative Ministry. Reynolds serves as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Chancellor for Archbishop Thomas Kelly and the Archdiocese of Louisville, coordinating the planning, personnel, and administration of twenty-one agencies serving 128 parishes. He holds a B.A. from Fairfield University, a Master of Religious Education (MRE) degree from Fordham University, and a Doctorate in Leadership Education from Spalding University, in Louisville. Brian has been a consultant, trainer, and author in the fields of religious education and youth ministry for more than twenty years, working in more than 100 Catholic dioceses in the U.S., Canada, and Ireland, and also has served on the adjunct faculties of several major colleges and universities. Brian’s writing credits include five books and more than 40 articles on ministry, adolescence, and religious education topics. Maureen Shaughnessy, S.C., serves on the provincial leadership team for her religious community, the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth. For many years, she was the Representative for Catechesis and Leadership Development in the Department of Education, United States Catholic Conference of Bishops (USCCB) and, before that, as the Director of Adult Education, Director of the Office of Evangelization, and Executive Secretary for Evangelization and Education in the Diocese of Paterson, New Jersey. Sr. Maureen received a B.A. in Latin from the College of St. Elizabeth and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in religious studies from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. Her post-graduate studies were done at Teachers College of Columbia University, in New York. She has taught regularly in college, university, and seminary programs, as adjunct and summer faculty, and in the Center for Ministry Development’s nationwide certificate of ministry studies program.

Therese Guerin Sullivan, S.P., is a Judge serving the Marriage Tribunal of the Diocese of Cleveland and a member of the Sisters of Providence of St. Mary of the Woods. She holds a Masters in Education (M.Ed.) and a Doctorate in Ministry (D.Min.). She also holds a Licentiate (J.C.L.) in Canon Law. In more than thirty years of ministry, Sr. Therese has been a teacher, an elementary school principal, and diocesan leader. From 1989 until very recently, she served in the diocese of Gary, Indiana as a Judge in the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal and as Vicar for Religious. She also was appointed by the Bishop of Gary to administer the Diocesan Conciliation and Arbitration Process.

Maria Borda Wiesner is the coordinator of Spanish Language Certificate Formation Programs, at St. Francis Seminary, on behalf of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She holds a master of pastoral Studies degree from St. Francis Seminary, in St. Francis Wisconsin. She is a skilled and popular workshop speaker and classroom instructor. Maria lives in the Milwaukee area with her husband. They have several young adult children.
