The Graduate Certificate in Theology and Ministry offers individuals a grounding in theology and pastoral ministry that will enrich their faith and expression of it in the world. Students will deepen their knowledge of the Tradition and develop skills to be more effective ministers.
Certificate requirements consist of:
This program consists of 18 credit hours of graduate credit study through the completion of at least twelve (12) of the credit hours through successful completion of theological core courses in LIM’s curriculum. The remaining six (6) credits of the Graduate Certificate in Theology and Ministry may come from any of the remaining theological core courses, focus area courses, and/or other electives that the Institute offers.
Transfer credits from other educational institutions are not accepted. Courses may be taken on campus or online. LIM graduates may reapply on-line using a one-page form. Other students need to apply for full admission. All program requirements must be completed within four summers. Continuing education credits (ceus) cannot be applied to one’s Graduate Certificate program.
Note: Graduate certificate students may elect to continue their studies at LIM beyond the 18 credits of this certificate model. Earned credits from the Graduate Certificate in Theology and Ministry program can be applied toward a Master of Pastoral Studies (M.P.S.) or Master of Religious Education (M.R.E.) degree.
