How to Log-in to BLACKBOARD
Your course instructor will email you about one week before the start date of the course to welcome you. Please contact the LIM office (email: lim@loyno.edu or 800-777-5469 or 504-865-3728), if you do not hear from your instructor within one week of your course start date.
Blackboard is an online “course management software” that will be used for the LIM Internet courses. It allows you to easily access materials for your course and communicate with your instructor and fellow students! Contact the reference desk at the library if you have questions. (Help desk e-mail: libref@loyno.edu or 504-864-7155). You will be able to login one week before the start date of the course.
To login:
- Go to http://blackboard.loyno.edu/ there is also a link from the campus homepage http://www.loyno.edu/
- Click on the “login” button
- You’ll be prompted for a “username” and a password:
- Your Blackboard login username is the same as your Loyola e-mail address BEFORE the @. If you don’t know what that is, go to http://www.loyno.edu/search/ and scroll down to the “student e-mail lookup” function. Search for your own name, and you’ll find your Loyola e-mail address. Please note:
- If you don’t have a Loyola e-mail address, contact infotech@loyno.edu to obtain one. OR
- If you already have a preferred email address that is different that a Loyola issued email, please make sure that you have updated your email address on the LORA (Loyola Online Records Access, http://lorasec.loyno.edu/ -- Go to “Personal Information” and “update email addresses”).
- Also email lim@loyno.edu as soon as possible to give us your preferred email address
- Your password is a six digit number that consists of your year of birth and the two-digit designation for the month in which you were born. For example, if you were born in May of 1958, your password is 195805.

- Remember to log out when you are done. Log out is located on the top right of the screen.
