How It Works
Overview of the Program
Because of the large size of the greater New Orleans area, the Loyola Institute for Ministry offers the LIM Outreach format as an off-campus option for adult learners living within the boundaries of the Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans. Lim Outreach is primarily for those who do not have easy access to Loyola’s uptown campus. During recent years, Outreach groups have met off-campus on the Northshore of Lake Ponchartrain; in the LaPlace LA river region; and in suburban Metairie LA.
Program Features
A LIM masters degree or certificate usually requires 36 credit hours of study. (See the LIM OnCampus Programs of Study section of this webpage.) In LIM Outreach, participants meet regularly in “off-campus” intentional leaning communities of about 8-12 learners. Together, they complete 18 credit hours, in the Institute’s six Theological Core Courses, as a LIM Outreach learning community. Participants complete their remaining 18 credit hours of study (while their LIM Outreach group is still meeting or after it has completed its 18 credit hours) in Focus Area courses and Electives in LIM’s on-campus program, in New Orleans, or via LIM Online (internet) coursework.

(3) Learn with nationally- and internationally-known LIM faculty members and visiting professors.
(4) Experience the academic enhancements offered by the Institute’s on-campus (year-round) learning community.
